How does one shine bright? To be honest, it’s all about your mindset. If your mindset is constantly negative, it will be hard to view anything in a positive light. Some people often think that mindset is all about the way you think. Although, that may be true, that’s not all it is. Mindset is what you believe about the world and about yourself. It then influences you on how to think, feel or behave in a situation based on those beliefs. So ideally, it’s way deeper than just the way you think.
So, how do we adjust our mindset so as to shine bright?
There are two things that you need to check. Check your surroundings and check your attitude.
CHECK YOUR SURROUNDINGS. What does this mean? Check who you surround yourself with. Who you surround yourself with is often who you become. What does your surroundings have to do with shining bright? If you surround yourself with people who lower your aspirations, it will make it difficult to shine bright. Anything or anyone that prevents you from elevating into the person you are, or the person that you are becoming is something that you need to move on from. Remember don’t let anyone rent a space in your mind, unless they are a good tenant. There will be times that the people that you surround yourself with or even the situation that you’re in may cause your light to grow dim. This is why it is essential to develop the skill of elevation. You must develop the skill of being able move on from something or someone that no longer benefits you. Once you develop that skill then you will be able to shine bright despite anything life throws at you.
CHECK YOUR ATTITUDE. Attitude can make all the difference. Having a negative attitude can and will drain you of any strength you need to improve what you’re going through. It will make you feel burdened, and each day will seem worst than the next. So, how can you combat negative thinking? Remember that the way you perceive things isn’t permanent, you can adjust the way you think. But, it’s an ongoing process – it takes time. So, what do you need to do? Be patient. Be patient with yourself. If you’re in a situation where you’re light grows dim, try to think positively. You might be thinking, that’s easier said than done. True. But, honestly it’s all a matter of adjusting the way you think about the situation. Instead of reflecting on the negative aspects of the situation, think of what you can do to change these negative aspects. When you adjust your thinking like this, you will start to view your situation as an obstacle rather than a burden. An obstacle is something that you can overcome – something that will pass. Once you overcome it, you will not only view it as a victory, but it will feel like a victory. That feeling will allow you to illuminate and shine bright.
So, how do you shine bright? By adjusting your mindset. How do you adjust your mindset? By checking your surrounding and your attitude. Remember, don’t let anyone or anything rent a space in your mind, unless they are a good tenant. Develop the skill of elevation. You must be able to move on from something or someone that no longer benefits you or your goals. Remember also, that the way you perceive things isn’t permanent, you can always adjust your thinking. But, you must be patient with yourself. View a negative situation as an obstacle that you can overcome – something that will pass, so that when you do overcome it, you will feel victorious and be able to shine bright.
